night light

I just discovered a nifty little light that I am doing to test. It is
very small and compact, and inexpensive. It is called a VersaBrite.
This little light runs on two AA batteries, and supposedly has a life of
five hours. The beam is a spot beam, a Xenon laser of 6000
candlepower. The neatest feature of this light is a changeable lens --
there is a red lens attachment for use at night (presumably so as not to
attract the mosquitos! But, the red light also will not interfere with
night vision.) The whole light has a swiveling lens and clips onto a
shirt pocket, or onto a strap -- it is only a little larger than an HRM
transmitter. And it only costs about $22 -- less than half the cost of
the Petzl lamps...

If I find it works well, we will consider carrying it along with our
other endurance products at Safe Haven Specialties -- contact myself or
Diane Nelson at safehavn@fast.net.
