Don't rely too much on ancedotal experiences. Because someone did A and B
occured does not mean A caused B. The net is too full of this type of
thing. I will relate an experience of having done that created a greater
problem for the horse. The horse developed a severe lameness immediately
post partum affecting both fores. Vet had no definative diagnosis. Possible
laminitis, but horse stood camped under - not classic. X-rays negative. No
fever, afterbirth clean. Began bute. Next day, severe hives. False
conclusion: bute cause hives. Off bute. Very slowly getting better until
several weeks later, turn for worse. Rotation of both coffin bones.
Restarted bute (among other things). No hives. Moral: major error about
bute and hives. This moral also applies to cures as well. Only if you can
repeat it can you draw any conclusions. Listen to the hard evidence first.
The other stuff is useful only if you can find a pattern.

BTW, while I don't see the need for Strongid C in my situation, I wouldn't
hesitate to use it.
