I took "full gallop" to mean a consistant 4-beat stride, not a mixy
canter-gallop. This will begin to occur at somewhere between a 3:30 mile rate
for smaller horses all the way down to a 2:50 mile rate for the larger
horses. So, if you have a horse that is galloping for an hour, then you have
a horse galloping for 20 miles at a crack. What wqas the Pony Express
distance--wasn't it 20 miles between posts?
