Scratches cure

Recently I came into possession of a horse that hadn't been very well taken care
of that had scratches on all four legs. Before having Argo, I didn't even know
what scratches was, since my horses had never contracted it.
My cure:
Ingredients: bottle of Farnam's Blue Lotion
small bottle of Jensen's Blue Violet (2%) , you get it
at most pharmacys. Only use the 2 %.
rubber gloves. The thin disposable kind like surgical gloves.

Pick off ALL the scratches scabs. This is the hardest part since it may be
slightly painful for the horse. You have to get them all or it keeps coming
back. It's easier to shave the infected area to get the scabs off easier.
Dump out 1/3 of the Farnam Blue lotion and add the entire bottle of Jensen's
Violet to the Farnam Blue lotion and mix it up.
USE YOUR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN DEALING WITH THE MIXTURES. IT WILL STAIN YOUR
FINGERNAILS AND HANDS. It doesn't wash off, it has to wear off and is an
unsightly purple.
Apply the mixture to the infected area. Treat the horse once a day every day
for four days. Make sure you pick off ALL the scabs each time. It should clear
it up inside of a week.
You can't do it before a ride since it will stain the horse's hair purple. It's
unsightly, but it works. Do not wrap the infected areas and try to keep it dry
during the week you're treating it.

Hope this helps.
