I was thinking about this pricing thing last night, and at least in my
area (Ohio), there seem to be 2 price ranges for Arabs - one price very
high (overly-inflated in my mind) - the "show horse prices", and then
"all the other arabs" - which seem to be rock-bottom (less than $1,000 to
maybe $1500).

I don't notice this huge difference in pricing in other breeds. For instance,
a nicely bred (meaning foundation bred, natural gaited) TWH is priced around
$3000. Look at the price of Quarter Horses - whether or not they are 4-H
show horses, you aren't likely to find one for $1000 either.

If I were looking for an Arab to ride endurance, I wouldn't object to
$3000 for one that would be considered suitable (I would object to $10,000+ for
a "show horse")....

I've always wondered why the prices for Arabians seem to be "all or nothing".

Just my musings....
