I understand where you breeders out there are coming from with regard to sale
prices of horses. I am one of those endurance riders looking for a good
bargain.

I know it costs money to raise and train a horse... let alone pay monthly
board for it. As an owner of 3 horses boarded OFF my property.... I can
attest to the expense of it all. There's NO way I could ever sell one of
them and make money or even break even... and I've only owned them for 2 +
years.

I am almost positive that no one ever told you that you could make a lot of
money at this breeding/selling thing. At least some of you out there run
your business as such and can write off loses of the business. There must be
some satisfaction/fun in researching the blood lines and engaging in the
whole breeding/raising of horses. You surely don't just do it for the money.

I am, through your conversations, more sensitive to your situation -- but at
least for now, will continue to look for a bargain. Perhaps I will find in
time, that my "Cash or Rio" is not readily there, and will have to fork out
$2,000 + for a good prospect that will be with me for a long, long time.

Sorry if I have offended any of the breeders out there... but I was slightly
offended at the derogatory remarks regarding endurance riders.

Good luck in making money and keep having fun with the breeding.

Melody
P.S. You all look for bargains too -- whether it be at the department store,
grocery store, horse market.... Don't you now?
