The type of hair loss described may just be that horses normal shedding
pattern. I have a mare that sheds that way. Her face & between the hind legs
are bald for a short time before the summer hair grows in. Her hair is very
fine & thin naturally. Other horses on the same feed, etc. program, are
naturally "hairier" & don't shed this way. I have seen this on other farms &
training stables too. If the mare doesn't seem to be abnormally itchy &
rubbing sores I wouldn't worry about it.
I would like to see a place to get detailed ride descriptions, too.
Especially concerning water on trail & other concerns for riding crewless.
