Thanks to all of you that attended the AERC Convention in Reno this
week-end. The raffle for the "Save No Hands Bridge" Poster went VERY
well. See the following letter for details about the results of the
raffle.

Thanks also to everyone that attend our no-host cocktail party to
celebrate the "Sale of the Trail" endowment. As announced, we have sold
over 10% of the Trail and with the generous donation from Maggie Price,
we sold the Trail on each side of the famous "Black Hole of Calcutta".
Other sections were also sold and we will publish the entire list in the
near future. Remember, get you application is soon so you don't get
left out. Sections of the Western States Trail are being "sold" for
$5,280 per mile and Master Card/Visa charges are accepted. Contact the
WSTF office at 916/823-7282 Mondays and Tuesdays for more information.
You can also contact us through our home page at

Dear Jim,

I am pleased to report that a raffle conducted at the AERC Convention in
Reno this week-end generated $1,094 in CASH DONATIONS for the specific
restricted fund setup for the "Save No Hands Bridge" project. This CASH
MONEY and checks are being turned over to you for deposit into the
account at U. S. Bank.

The donation from people around the United States and Canada was a
result of a generous donation by the 1996 Western States Trail Ride
Veterinary Team that commissioned the professional custom framing of the
"Save No Hands Bridge" poster. Dr. Mitch Benson, DVM along with other
veterinarians G. Cook, H. Cook, Dieterich, Edwards, Fellers, Hassel,
Jackson, Kelly, Leonard, Randall, Shaver, Thompson and Witt each donated
money for the stunning framed poster. We understand the retail value of
this donation was in excess of $300. The raffle was won by Patty
Banneck of Vevada City, CA.

As a side note, we collected another 75 signatures on the petition to
repair NHB. This brings the total to date over 6,300.

Sale of the poster and calendar continues and soon WSTF will send a
check for proceeds after production costs for deposit into the U. S.
Bank account.

On behalf of the Board of Governors of the WSTF, thanks again for all
your help on the project to get the Bridge reopened.

Regards,

Larry Suddjian, Vice President
