Scooping water from trough

Hi all-

I want to tell you about my pet-peeve. At rides, I frequently come to a water
stop and my horse begins to drink. Then, somebody comes along and starts
scooping water from the trough right next to where my horse is drinking. Now,
both my horses are young (5 & 6) and can be excitable, especially at a busy
water stop. Inevitably, once he shys from a scoop being placed almost
literally beneath his knows, he is reluctant to dring again. It's fustrating
for me, especially when I'm trying to encourage him to drink more.

I have decided at my ride there will be seperate troughs and/or buckets. One
for strictly drinking and another for sponging *and* scooping. This way,
horses will be more relaxed when they dring - not worried they're going to
get a scoop shoved up their nose!

Well, am I out-of-line or what? Let me know your views.
