<< need advice on teaching my 2 year old to pony. If I use a rope halter he
will pony at a walk for a short time and then stops; and won't trot or
canter while being ponied at all. I want to condition this baby but want
to avoid riding him for another year. BTWHe leads, from the ground,
beautifully. Thanks

Have you done ground work? Longeing? Long Lining? All of these things will
teach him to move forward..that's your problem and common to many
youngsters.. Work with him on the ground first..then he'll lead without
stopping.
