We use 10' x 5.5' tubular steel portable corral panels to confine our
horses at camp. These panels travel nicely on a rack on the trailer and
they are cheap - about $35 each. I can put 3 at the end of my trailer
which has 3' butterfly doors on the back of it. This makes a 10' x 13'
pen with gates! One person can put the corral up in a matter of minutes
without posts or wires. This is a strong corral that holds my horse in
and does not let him get his head through it or under it. Plus it keeps
all other horses out if THEY are on the loose. (Not so with electric
fencing) If I want a bigger area, I can carry up to 5 panels on my trailer.

The only other system I have seen that appears safe and "horse proof" is
Monte and Nancy Mitts (Custom Iron Works) roll up corral. It is an extremely strong continuous vinyl mesh fence that rolls up into a cabinet
attached on the outside of your trailer.
