Sandy,
I have ridden and raced Freebee in a halter since he was four. I have had
no more problems with him then any of my other horses that are in bits. He
does great in the halter. I think that the rider needs to be comfortable
riding their horse with out a bit. Richard also rides Fadska with out a bit
with no problems.
It's just a preference and can be a great option for the right
horse/rider combination
