New endurance/trail horse shoeing?

I would like some more opinions, if you don't mind. I see you guys were
talking some about shoes while I was gone, but I have a couple questions.
Don't worry, I'm talking with my two farriers about this too, I just wanted
to hear what you guys have to say also. My QH mare, I have had her for 2
almost 3 yrs now, has only needed shoes once before in her life, that was
when I first got her and her feet were in horrible shape. This summer I am
planning on starting her with a little endurance work, and our main
conditioning area around here is somewhat hard dirt roads. I was wondering
if you thought it would be a good idea to get shoes put on her for the
summer. It is pretty dry up here in MN during the summer, and last summer
all the horses with shoes were getting very cracked and brittle hoofs, so I
really only want to put shoes on her if she really needs them. If you think
she should, do you have any suggestions on good shoes for endurance horses,
or are just normal ones fine. Like I mentioned earlier, I am going to ask my
farriers this also, but I know they aren't really familiar with the endurance
horse so I would like as many opinions as I can get. Thanks in advance.
Please e-mail me at CinderBeau@aol.com, because I don't get a chance to read
all the horsecamps all the time. Thanks again, bye
