Grey seems to be the predominant colour at endurance, presumably
because of the arab...

bu', bu'... most horses seem to be "brown" don't they? With the
exception of arabs and welsh ponies, all I ever see are "brown"
horses. Try picking the grey horse in a flat race - if you're
lucky, there'll be one, but usually *only* one.

(I know this, because I always vote for the grey horses... even
won some money once...)

But I'm curious... if I wanted a "dun" coloured horse, what
breed would it most likely be? (don't say "buckskin", that
doesn't seem to mean anything) Quarter horse? And how come
"buckskin" is supposed to be dun, yet I see pictures of what
appear to be chestnuts or even fairly dark brown horses labelled
as buckskin. (I'd never heard the name buckskin until I came to
the US).
