I want to thank Wendy & Truman for their conditioning input. This is my
second year at long distance riding & it really is helpful. I'm more
interested in CTR, but expect to do some 25s in endurance this year.
There's no chance of winning, but I do love the time on the trail!

I especially want to thank Truman for his description of Misty's gaits! I
have a gaited grade horse that never knows what he should do in the trot.
When I ride with a friend who's conditioning her Arab for endurance, Felix
will pick up a nice running walk (6-8 mph), but if I'm riding solo (80% of
the time) he forgets how to do it. He is most comfortable in a canter (as
am I) & luckily we live in East Tennessee so lots of terrain changes.

Just a note to the entire group, I've been on the digest version for about
a year & have loved so much! The thread on ride preparation already has
been very helpful. Thanks to all the experienced riders for helping out
those of us who don't even know the questions to ask.
