horses

I have ridden my QH in 30 miles LD's with no problems and no ridicule.

my 10yr old daughter rode her welsh/QH appie (POA sized) horse on the same
ride, and was really upset when she heard some of the Arab owners saying "you
shouldn;t take that fat little pony on this ride". Well we passed up 9 other
arabs to finish 7 and 8 out of 18 riders..... with all A's on the vet checks.

Just make sure the horse is in condition to do the ride, have fun, and be
safe.

Last year my 8 year old daughter rode her Welsh pony (12.3 h) on
the Camp Far West endurance ride, on the 25. The pony is about
18, and has been trail ridden extensively for about 2 years. My
daughter
sometimes feels embarrased to be riding a pony, since some of
her friends ride horses, but she got a lot of attention on the
ride from adults who told her who cute her pony was. She finished
29th out of about 100 riders, with excellent vet scores.
