making FAQs for the endurance group

after seeing wendy milners very nice "getting started" article -
and knowing we have seen associated material over the roughly 21
months of archives - it might be nice to collect the articles
from the archives into a sort of FAQ.

we are seeing more newcomers and it would be nice to point them to
a starting place to look. we already have a nice set of articles
with single messages listed under "stuff" - then stories. but these are
single articles w/o all the related material posted in followups
and discussions. topics are not just for newcomers of course -
following the discussion on lactic acid and exercise might be
easier if we had all the articles in one place.

i wondered if there was interest in selecting some topics - going
thru the archives and collecting all the useful postings for each
topic under a single heading.

while its not quite a FAQ where it is a question - then answer format,
we would at least be able to find all the discussion in one spot
for a given topic.

among topics that might be of interest - we could have

getting started
beginning conditioning from zero
conditioning strategies for experienced horses/riders
the lactic acid discussion
comparisions of different endurance saddles
thumps
topics for ride managers
feeding plans
WEG coverage

the above could be broken down into subtopics if it looked useful.
there have to be lots of other topics that i have not listed above.

i would be willing to coordinate setting up topics - actually receiving
suggestions and sorting thru them to avoid duplication - and then
posting the selected topics.

i could then coordinate getting volunteers to take particular topics.
there is no free lunch here so we do have to do some work...

the volunteers could either look thru copies they have kept - or
use the very nice archive search engine to look for the articles
and then put them into a single file for inclusion on web page.

anyone interested? comments?

after all - for most of the country right now - we can't ride - so
lets do something that is horse related and keeps our mind off
the lack of riding...

even here in houston we cannot ride. a 2 day ice storm destroyed
all our trails through the woods. we have lots of chainsaw work
to clear the trails.
