Nature on a ride

Hi,

I haven't posted anything in ages, but am working on an interesting
project. I was just hired about a month ago as the publications manager
of the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville, VA, the state
museum. The museum publishes a quarterly magazine, the Virginia
Explorer, aimed at the general public.

Jean Fogle, a neighbor of Valerie Kanavy in Fort Valley, has been
writing for the magazine. She has written an article about endurance,
and we would like to add a couple of quotations from riders who really
derive a lot of their satisfaction and enjoyment of endurance and/or
competitive trail from the experience of sharing the natural world with
an animal-partner. [I'm trying to explain what I mean without sounding
to hokey or pretentious].

We would appreciate your input. If you would like to comment, please
e-mail me at

I will forward anecdotes to Jean via fax. Jean, BTW lives right across
the road from the Old Dominion HQ camp. She has had the pleasure of
riding "Cash" numerous times, and finds him a wonderfully sure-footed
mount.

Thanks for your help,
