The 1997 Twin Oaks Charity Challenge will be held on August 23, 1997.
Because of overwhelming positive feedback on last year's ride, the base camp
site and the trail will remain the same. However, as explained last year at
the ride, the limited distance will be sanctioned as a 30 mile course (it is
actually 29 miles).
One thing that has changed is the ride manager. Long-time endurance rider
and ride manager Cheri Briscoe has agreed to head the ride with last year's
manager, Carol Barrett, assisting her. The two hope to remedy the small
inconveniences that occured last year so that the TOCC will become one of
the premier southern California endurance rides!
Also, plans are being made for the 1997 TOCC to host the IAHA Region 2
Championship!
It is hoped that endurance riders from all over California and the southwest
plan to attend this beautiful, challenging ride through the oak and pine
trees of the southern Sierra Mountains.
