Ridecamp policy and ride results posting

Hi group,

I just wanted to mention to all the newcomers
on Ridecamp that we are a forum for discussing
Endurance (long distance riding) only. I realize
this includes most every equine topic in the world
at some point, but we try to avoid discussing general
topics if they are not in the context of Endurance.

For example, the recent posts about bits (general info)
and abused horses are (while important topics) a little
stray of the endurance theme. There are other general
topic lists such as Equine-L where these are more
appropriate. I don't want to be heavy handed in guiding
this list, but it's very important that we stay focused.

Also - I think it best when tempers flare to just stay
out of the fray. It just makes it worse when everyone gets
involved in support of this person or that person. Just let
the individuals work it out - and if it gets too bad I can
send private messages begging for cooperation.

One last item - when you post ride results (which
by the way is an excellent use of this list) be sure to include
the ride date along with the name of the ride. When I see
results posted, I have Denise copy them to the Events web
page so we have them archived. It's useful to have as
much info as possible about the ride.

I think that's it. Stay cool :)

Steph
