I'm happy to be back in my cozy home after my wet weekend at the Oceola
National Forrest in Lake City, FL. The weather was gorgeous but due to a
week of downpours, the trails were half under water. My arab shouldn't
have any more problems with water after this ride:) hee..hee.. We had
water up to our billets in places, but mostly levels averaged around the
knees.
Anyway, to my topic of discussion. Now that I've decided I'm hooked on
endurance riding and will continue this masochistic endeavor, I'm trying
to find ways to make the sport more economical. My gooseneck creates a
severe vortex underneath it's overhang as we travel down the road at
65-70MPH. I know we've lost buckets and even bags of hay from the bed of
the truck because of the swirling. That has to be eating our gas mileage
UP!
Do the air deflectors they build for full size trucks help the mileage
enough to defray the cost of installing them? I'd really appreaciate the
feedback of anyone with experience in this area. Thanks, and have a great
week.

all day and glad to be home in his cozy stall.)
