Tom, as I have stated on numerous occasions before, my opinions are not
worth any more than anyone else's. When I have stated opinions, I call
them opinions. When I have stated information learned from other
sources, I have stated that as such. I have also on numerous occasions
apologized if the tone of my posts seemed over-simplified or
patronizing, as I have always explained, I did not EVER imply idiocy on
the part of the reader, merely an interest in explaining something on a
level that inexperienced and experienced alike could understand. I am
sorry that this so offends you.

> Now you're pretending to be a martyr to nasty comments from me

If I was a martyr, why would I have objected to remarks ever made in the
past which I considered inappropriate? Forgive my difference of
opinion---what to you qualifies as martyr is to me just what my mother
taught me about maintaining good manners whenever possible. I simply do
not see the point in abandoning all on-going discussion for the sake of
a bar brawl. However, I will maintain that I have as much right to an
opinion as anyone else, whether you find my opinion knowledgable or not.

This comment does not warrant the dignity of an answer.

I believe my position on scientific methodology and reliable
statistics would belie any proposed fears I may have about hard
scrutiny. However, I don't think asking for good manners is too much to
ask of anyone---qualified or unqualified, published or not, scientist or
trainer.
