The upcoming Shine and Shine ride is, I think, in Almaden Quicksilver County
Park. It's an excellent training ride. Depending on whether we get more
rain between now and then, the trail can be great. Mostly wide fire road
type trails with gentle hills. There are a couple of somewhat steep hills on
Hacienda Trail. But then, steep is relative.
Staging is at the Santa Clara County Horsemen's Clubhouse and there is plenty
of parking space.
I can't tell you what the start is like because when I last did this ride it
was called Rain or Shine and was done up on Mt. Hamilton in Grant Ranch Park.
Quicksilver is my 'home' park and it's a great place to ride.
