I was so worried about having overworked my 13 year old mare on her first
2-day 100 last September until my ride partner took her pasture mate away
for a trot. Nickie cleared her little portable corral like nobody's
business and went galloping after her buddy! I have never seen that mare
jump in the 11 years I've had her. It's all in the conditioning and the
preparation. I believe that some, not all, of these horses truly love the
going.
