Hackamore placement is often done incorrectly... too low and you inhibit
breathing (ever hear a horse try to breath with his nostrils being shut off
every time the rider pulls back??)..Too high and it is uneffectual in all but
the most agreeable horses. Just below where the cartiledge turns to bone is
the general rule of thumb.

You'll like the Sleister. It is, in my opinion, the best made hackamore on
the market.
