What we don't want is to feed or inject something that will cause the
horse
to be overused and thereby abused.

I suspect that overuse and abuse are also bugaboo's. Many folk including
horse owners would regard racing as abuse and certainly many regard
endurance as abuse and overuse. My definition of abuse tends towards
underuse and neglect than anything else (which is probably what most
horses have to suffer).

What do they do in human sports, surely they have been through this
enough
times before that we can pick at some of their ideas. Meanwhile how
about
drug testing some of the riders - "Naw don't you know that ibupropen is
a
naturally occurring substance in horse riders?" :)
