<< Tom, or the rest of you folks, perhaps you can help me remember
a source for this. Several years ago when I was looking into
reasons for tying up, I remember reading some report that said
if you have a horse prone to tying up, you should avoid corn oil
and feed salad or veg. oil instead. Does this ring a bell with
anyone, or Tom, do you know any reasons to avoid corn oil (with
horses that tie up?)

Never heard of that one--corn oil is vegetable oil, as far as I know. It's
relatively high in Medium Chain Triglycerides--fast acting fats--but I don't
see why it would promote tying up.
