Tracy,

What a great word picture: "I keep expecting the feed buckets to start
smoking." Thanks for the laugh and your thoughts.

What do you think is the best way to approach a clarification of the
drug policy?

My experience with this type of issue is that an inter-disciplinary
workgroup creates a forum for the expression of ideas and can promote
thoughful debate.

A concensus group made up of riders, vets, rule and protest committee
members, manufactures and other concerned parties would bring to one
table all interests. Obviously, the leader of the group would have to
act STRICTLY NEUTRAL on the issue. Otherwise perceived authority might
supress good ideas and discussion.

Such a group could be given the sole and express task of clarifying
the AERC Drug Policy. Not necessarily changing it, but rather making it
easier to understand and apply. Of course if the group felt changes
were needed, they could certainly be included as recommendations in the
final report to our BoD.

What do you think?
