Re Bev and Pete Fields
BRAVO Great point paper Bev.
Yes I remember the OD100 early days.. All HAS evolved well.

A COMPROMISE has to arrived at. Something like Randy E said.. an outside
group fringe group of AERC like the FEI.

Many did not want FEI, but WHO took the sport to them? AERC and the major
players. Maggie Price was the leader and my hats off to her.. The sport will
grow, it has too. The FEI-USET WEG platform has been good for the sport. Yes
there were and are problems. Even the small rides have problems, but we work
them out.

Many riders think or thought the FEI group would force their polices on AERC
or take them over. NOT the case. FEI-USET Endurnace is all based on AERC. Yes
they changed some the policies rules procedures. AND the FEI Endurance is a
success.

This money venture can be a good for AERC. INCOME

I was SURE the WEG in Kansas would be a disaster, It was not. The origanizing
com and the Vet Team did it right. There were controls, they worked.

By placing QUALIFICATIONS on Horse and RIDER, we should limit the problems
with un-educated riders. This IS different from WEG, where riders rode the
100 who never rode over 25 miles. High End rides should, MUST set minimun
qualifications. FEI SHOULD do this for the next WEG. ROC does-Right. How many
ROC horses have died in the past 15 years? ONE? and it WAS NOT over ridden.

I have read all these posts, while most were against this venture and the
points well taken, I still believe there is a place for this type of ride in
AERC.
