This is the prblem I have with corporate sponsorship of rides. A corporation
has no business conducting a competition such as this for a myriad of
reasons, not the least of which is that their purpose in doing it at all is
advertising, and as such, their input as to the race would be incredibly
biased. I think it is not safe to assume that this is a manufacturer of hrose
products and so they MUST care. Not necessarily. A safer and more equitable
alternative would be for corporate concerns to sponsor particular awards at
existing rides of some moment. Personally, I would be very concerned about
riding in a competition where my competitors HAVE something to gain by
passing up the injured rider on trail or shoving past my already
short-shrifted stallion at the water holes. No, we will not oartake of this
kind of venture.
