cash prizes

It is a fact that if there are large cash prizes paid for endurance
races, limits will be pushed and more horses will be injured (just look
at any other equine sport).

Though I am not totally against winning a substantial prize for the
effort, we MUST realize that, with the coming of more equine injuries,
we will attract the attention of non-equine oriented people who will
make our sport their business. When this happens, we HAD BETTER be
prepared to deal with it. By deal with it, I mean, have our own
policies and procedures and lawyers in place.
