Kris,

Not sure why you are having this problem. If the cinch is too
loose that you would have to punch holes, then maybe you need
a shorter cinch.

Teddy Lancaster (Running Bear), makes a great Sport Saddle cinch,
with roller buckles and elastic at both ends. I use this on our
pony, as I could not find a standard cinch that was short enough.

My other two horses currently use a standard cheap neoprene, I
think one is 28" and one 30". Even when they are loose, I still
have good contact. I have one electrode on the left side, under
and saddle at the withers, and the other one on the right side,
on the cinch, with a web and velcro strap.

One of the beauties of the Sport Saddle is that you don't have to
cinch it up tight. Yet, you need sufficient snugness to have the
electrode make contact.

Again, other things you can try are the big, thick electrodes
that Roger Rittenhouse sells-I have been very happy with these,
and the wires don't pull out from them like on my old ones.

Your reading is not accurate, also try checking where the wires
snap into the unit-mine occasionally pop out.

I am assuming you are using the model with the wires, and notthe
heartbelt.

Hope any of this helps!
