I want to commend this forum for evolving into something that has become
very interesting to not only "newer versions of endurance riders", but to
many of us that may qualify as "oldtimers" in this sport, although I am
sure none of us oldtimers think we are. What I find most encouraging is
that no matter how many miles and/or years of experience we have, we all
want to learn more.

Tom Ivers letters are very informative and he is a tremendous addition to
this forum, and I will gladly bring to the attention of the AERC Board
that we are missing the boat in not having him as a guest solo speaker as
well as a panelist speaker. As to Julie Suhr and her comments....Julie
is truly the definition of a Lady, as well as one of the most
knowledgable Endurance Riders I have ever had the privilege to know.
When Julie speaks, it behooves (no pun intended) us all to listen. The
only mistake Julie has made recently was not mentioning herself and her
Great Endurance Horse , HCC Gazal, in the same sentence with Siri,
Bezatal, Witezarif, and Rio. All these tremendous athletes had one
common denominator, great riders.

Now to my own version of marketing within this forum: THE 1997 MEGAMANIA
SERIES OF RIDES:

January 11 & 12 - El Paso - Las Cruces I & II - 50 + 50 miles (one base
camp)
February 14, 15, 16 - Cow Tanks I,II, III - 60, 60, 60 miles (one base
camp)
March 24 - 28 - New Mexico Renegade Ride 5 Days - 285 Miles (point to
point)
June 30 - July 4 - Timberon 5 Days - 275 Miles (one base camp)
