hoof angles

With regard to hoof angles: most of the discussions refer to the angle of
pastern in relation to the angle of the hoof. What about the entire leg
(specifically the front legs) would you not incorporate the angle of the
shoulder as well? The whole picture? My farrier uses this theory rather
than focusing only on the pastern angle - the angle of the shoulder, pastern
and hoof should all be the same. Any comments? Is he pulling my leg?
