My .02 on hrms -- I have both kinds -- i.e heart belt and electrodes and use both. I
got the heart belt because it's so hard to hear my horse's pulse with a stethoscope
(and Pr people at rides have trouble too-- last ride he was beeping away at 44bpm at
the vet check but no one could find it with the stethoscope!!@#$$%%^^&!!) and I like
to loosen the girth when i come in and you lose the connection then with the
electrodes. I find I get better and more consistent, accurate readings with the belt.
The only reason I don't use it all the time is because I noticed some white hairs
coming where the belt goes, so I think it irritates -- any suggestions?
Also very glad to get Susan Evans confirmation that so-called "fat" horses do well at
rides -- seems intuitive to me that endurance is about enduring and the horse needs
some reserves. My horse is definitely an easy keeper and so far we have finished
every ride and he's done well.
PS to the person looking for a lawyer : I'm one though not from Indiana or wherever
you said -- but feel free to email me.
