Ruth Anne and I went to Lari's in May of 1995 and did the Redwood Coast
Ride. The lodging was absolutely wonderful. DeHaven Valley Farm is like
someplace out of a storybook. The nightly dinners and wine were close to
excellent. Lari is a true horselady and fabulous hostess!! The support staff
was most helpful and always and I mean always very cordial and congenial.
The nightly entertainment was always soothing and relaxing after a long days
ride and a few busts of wine. Riding in the sand and water on the beach was
exhilarating! We did see seals cavorting in the surf. The climb into the
redwoods and the complete system of trails were varied and challenging. The
views from atop the ridges back to the sea were magnificent! There were ten
guests and Lari's friend Harvey on our trek. Harvey was actually like having
another host. By the end of the first day we were all like old friends. One
trekker from Germany bought an orlov/thorobred and flew him home. That was
neat. Trekkers came from Georgia, North Carolina (us), Ca. and Oregon. Can
you tell yet that I had a good time!? Last but best were the fabulous STEED.
There were Tevis finishers, ROC finishers, race winners and winners of best
condition awards. A horse was available for all levels of riding and riders.
If you really want to ride and I mean really want to ride some quality
conditioned atheletes this is the place to go. They get my 5-STAR award.

Ride....Really Ride!!!!

P.S. I went back by myself in September of 1995 and tried to buy a horse but
we could not get together on price, but I had another lovely time.
