I would breed to an Appaloosa. They usually have good feet and bone, and
good sense. They also usually have some color, so you know which horse
is yours in a crowd of bays and chestnuts!!<Grin>. Their personalities
can be really pleasant too. Of course I'm generalizing. I would look at
the Pedigree and not pick one with any or much Quarter horse breeding.
I would pick a app that is mostly foundation bred as those are your
working horse blood lines, also they have stronger color lines,(again a
generality). I believe the horse that won the Tevis this year and a
couple of years ago is a half arab -half app. Cougars' Fete-- Please
CORRECT me if I'm wrong everyone!!
By the way I'm sort of halfway looking for a half arab- half app
with color and out of Endurance stock, if anyone knows of such please let
me know. I want to get a new horse to start to bring along in the next
few years.
(OK now all of you non-appy lovers can take me to task about this
post. I know you're out there!!)
