ELectric fencer problems

Hi all- I figure there should be some electric fence experts here :)
My unit at home is less than a year old and has loss it's zap. I checked and
reconnected the wires and even tried it in a different location thinkin git
might be a problem with the grounding and it is still hardly putting out any
voltage. It was working a few weeks ago. It's a 'solid state' unit and cost
alot so I really don't want to throw it out since it's pretty new and I have no luck trying to find
someone around here to fix it. Anyone know of a place that will fix these
things regardless of the manufacturer? I took my previous broken unit apart to see what was
inside and it looked pretty simple- just a transformer and a capacitor and a
little circuit board. And boy it sure put out a spark when I touched something
in there and it was not plugged in! I guess this is how capacitors work! At
least I learned something from the experience.
I appreciate any help- my horses have figured out that the fence is not on and
they are starting to toy with me- reaching out and touching the fence with
their noses and then turning to look at me in a pleased and surprised way.
