Solo Division?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away (before I owned my horse) I seem
to recall reading an atricle about "the Solo Division" in endurance rides. It
was about ten years ago, so my memory may not be all that clear. What I
remember is that there was a seperate division for those who wish to ride
without any crew support at all. I belive that it also said something about
having to carry everything you needed for the entire ride with you for the
entire ride. I was under the impression that that included hay, grain, blanket,
etc. The article went on to sing the praises of those who could actually win
as well as complete doing this (what an awesome acomplishment that would
be!).
I've read the AERC handbook front to back and I don't see any mention of
anything even remotely similar. I have never heard any mention of it any
rides I have attended. Am I up in the night? Is there another CTR/Endurance
group that does this? Or is it something that has been discontinued? Hubby
says he's not going to crew for a couple of rides this year (he actually
wants a life! Whats next?) so as long as I'm going solo I might as well get
"macho points".Thanks for any info.

P.S. I have a great trick for getting MORE STUFF. I buy it at a Pawn Shop. I
pay no more than half of what it cost new, therefore I can get TWICE the
stuff. I bought my cooler, lantern, generator, and rain suit from a pawnshop. I
got such a good deal that I began working there. Then I got an even better
deal on my truck, camper and even my horse trailer! Its amazing what you can
find!
