well, we have a delightful 7 year old straiught Egyptian race-bred mare who
is fully broke, lunges,clips, ponies, trailers, has lunged over fences, given
one great filly, and completed her first 30+ miler with xlnt P & Rs and was
ready to go again! Should have taken her in the 50! She is not green but is
not a child's mount yet, in that a child or a beginning rider can't be
fooling around and booting her and yanking on her and expect her to tolerate
it. She works well in a snaffle, short shanked curb, sidepull and has even
gone in a halter although I don't recommend THAT. She is a hair over 15.1
with xlnt legs, outstanding balance uphill and downhill, and every saddle we
own stays put on her. Oh yes, she camps beautifully and is not in the least
marish. We don't own any mares like that.
You did not state your riding level or your price range. This mare is $5000
with a breeding, with a really hefty reduction for cash and with out the
breeding, which might suit you fine if you are up north. We are near Malibu -
yes, right in the fire path! I can get medical records as well as
recommendations from several people who have ridden her as well as the woman
who rode her in the Endurance Ride, if you have an interest in her. Please
advise.
