This is my first post on ridecamp, so if I screw this up, my apologies.   I
was curious  about Bonnie Snodgrass comments on the Sports Saddle  "front
 fork" as  I recently bought my 2nd  Sports Saddle and found it to be  much
 narrower and STIFFER than my first saddle. I bought my first  SS  in 1993
and I loved it.  However, I had  a 16 in. seat made  instead of a 15.5 seat
 which  truly fits me better.  The increase in seat size made the saddle much
longer, which was alright then, but  now I ride a different horse with a much
shorter back  and so I was forced to sell my saddle and get a new one.   When
I ordered the saddle I told my distributor and the people at Horse Works that
I did not want the "front fork " of my saddle to be narrow and stiff  like
the new modles but I wanted it to be wider and flexible like the endurance
model I bought in 1993.  They all thought I was crazy.   They insisted that
they have not changed anything in the manufacturing  of the saddle .  I
explained that the first model didn't have fleece and this one did   and so
on and so on and so on.   They told me  I was  "thinking" it was stiffer
 because this  one was shorter.....not so.  I would  have liked to have  a
video of the 2 saddles together    showing the difference,  but I had to send
it off  to its' new home before the other came in.  I guess this all means
that if you are thnking of buying a Sports Saddle  ( which I do Love)   don't
  ride  in or look at any of the older years.  Look for the ones with the
fleece backing , so you can compare apples to apples  so to speak.
