A little disclaimer here - I am not suggesting
that a TWH can do as well (with notable exceptions -
Truman's Misty) as most Arabians on 100 mile
rides. (Don't want to ruffle any feathers
here! :^) )

I think that 100 mile rides will probably
always be won by arabs ridden by featherweight
riders.

My point in writing is to encourage those who
want to get involved in distance riding and
love what they already are riding - due to
various physical problems, if I wasn't riding
a gaited horse, I wouldn't be riding at all
right now. i really have had fun competing
with my horses. I have no intention of
ever riding 100 mile rides (due to my
own limitations), but can't wait to do some
50 mile rides next year!
