Really depends on how much you drive. Most pick-ups are technically
overloaded pulled your new trailer, but will do the job and last if you are
not going that many miles. If you look, you may find Fords, Chevy's, GMC's,
etc. in the 1 1/2 to 2 ton range used and they will NOT be overloaded.

Bottom line is to get dealers manual on each vehicle you are considering and
look at the spec sheet yourself. If it doesn't say it is rated GCWR 20,000
pounds of more, I stay away from it for this trailer.

Conversions work, but thinka about it...you are just beafing up PART of a
truck...there are other parts that are not designed to do the job. I am a
firm believer in getting a tad more than you need and you won't have a
problem. For instance, the Ford Power Stroke...the biggest model in a
standard shift is rated for GCWR of 20,000 pounds MAX. So you are asking
maximum performance EVERY time you tow.
