saddle slipping

The first time I rode in my custom DeSoto saddle on a very hilly endurance
ride we were going down a steep hill and at the bottom my horse decides to
take a drink. Head down. Over the neck the saddle goes! I landed in the
drink! The saddle fits perfectly, but he is wide. I am careful on how I
sit and do not go down hill for long periods of time without stopping. I
have grabbed on to trees to pull the saddle backwards before! I never have
this problem anymore. So, don't feel bad :> Even my narrower good
withered horse might have trouble if he kept his head down at the bottom of
a long hill!
