use of sports medicine boots

in reply to the question on the use of sports medicine boots
on rides - leg protections like that of any form are not allowed
in the competitive trail rides in the east coast trail riders
association(ECTRA). don't know about natrc. aerc rides certainly
allow them.

as far as their use - i use them on one of my arabs and not the
other. i do take them off at every vet check to avoid heat
buildup and to clean them. it is hard to avoid getting sand
into them but i have not had a problem. another horse seemed
allergic to the material. his legs swelled up with just
15 minutes use at a walk.

so my score is great for one horse - helped a lot. no need for
another - and bad news for the last.
