The clasical way of dealing with pad slippage (other than not using one) is
to get a large deer skin shammy (sp?) -- you know, the kind used on fine
automobiles. It needs to be bigger than the bars of the saddle. Soak the
shammy in water and smooth over the horse's back. Use whatever saddle and
pad you wish. I learned this foxhunting, where there is NO chance to fix
anything, and it is remarkable how well it works for me.
