Last year I toughed out some crunched metatarsals and baby toe
thanks to dear departed Quiche standing on the edge of my
sneaker-clad foot. She did this two days before a major parade,
and I had to stuff that foot into my ropers, stuff pain pills
into me, and smile. The thing went numb after awhile, then
hurt like hell when I pulled the boots off. I hobbled around
for weeks, but kept riding (no long rides, though).

Not recommended, but if ya gotta... Maybe try to wear a slightly
longer shoe on the damaged foot to give the toe more room, and
wrap it real good.
