[endurance] which fat to feed

Hi all! I will put in my two cent's worth. I disagree somewhat with
Lew on the subject of ease of metabolism of animal vs. vegetable
fats. We have had difficulties with several animal fats and animal
blends, including tallows and lard (solids and semi-softs). The
acceptance can be poor, and the digestibility is not the same as
vegetable fats. We have seen greasy stools, foamy stools, and effects
on digestibiltity of other nutrients.
Texas A&M research has shown good use of animal fats,
but I have never been able to pin anyone down about what they use and
how it is processed. I am also skeptical because of the lack of their
refereed publications. They do a some good research, and some not so
good research, but the lack of recent journal articles puzzles me. I would be
almost certain the article was based in part on A&M research.
Cheers....Lynn
