Just thought it was about time I let everyone know the morgan horse
community is alive and well in QH country. And due to the size of the
state and the travel involved to be an active member a new club
was formed on 1 June 1996. The organizational meeting had 17
people (members by the end of the meeting) in attendance with a
significant number of letters and calls indicating interest but
conflicts with the meeting. We are to be known as the Heart of Texas
Morgan Horse Club (HOTMHC).

And we are always looking for new interests and active members. So, any
silent interested parties please E-mail me or call me at 817-542-3589.
As the newly elected president I think I can assist you. Why to show
support we just had a new family with 3 morgans move into the my area.
Some one up there is watching out for us.

On another note The great state of Texas has purchased 14,000 acres just
west of Austin and will be acquiring a total of 45,000 acres. They meet
in a fairly unpublished meeting to decide what it's uses would be
besides a bird sanctuary.

I would like to encourage any one in TX or the surrounding states to
send a letter to:
Deborah Holle, Refugee Manager
Balcones Canyon Land MWR
Heartland Bank Building
10711 Burnett Road, Suite 201
Austin, Texas 78758
Phone 512-339-9432
Please request any information they have now and in the future. AND,let
them know how much we need quality equine trails. And, of your support
for this type of use. Those interested in where this area is pull out
your map of TX and look for FM 1431 to FM1174. The land acquired is east
along FM 1174.

I apologize for those many whose time I took up but feel this is the
best way to reach the many who could possibly help and receive benefits.
