Glad to see that Diane is planning on making the trip.

My mom and step-dad put this ride on and it's the BEST. We have a
steak, lobster, and corn roast every year that truely makes the travel worth
it. I've called them to ask on the best route but I know it takes them
approx 15hrs to get to the OD so maybe that helps you? All but the last 45
minutes or so is on the interstate(good roads)then it turns into an ordinary
road, but not too bad.
The trails are primarily through the woods on discontinued roads
with good footing and only about 1.5miles of hot top, but that section has
minimal traffic. There are many places for the pit crew to meet you and has
always been a lot of water(I did it without a crew).
Dr Art King from Canada and Dr Barbara Perkins of Maine are the
vets(they have done this ride for the last few years).
As with all endurance rides-we have a great bunch of people up here
and would love to see you all. Vet-in starts at 1pm on Friday, August 16
until dark. If anyone has any questions or would like an entry please call
April Buck at 207-743-2690 or you can e-mail me.
